Conant Library supports the mission of Nichols College, particularly as it relates to the integration of research and scholarship into the student experience of academic programs and activities, the development of communication and critical thinking abilities, and the necessary teamwork skills required of leaders in a global economy.
The Library supports academic excellence by selecting, acquiring, organizing, preserving, and providing access to a variety of quality resources to enhance learning, teaching, and research.
The Library works in partnership with faculty to develop students’ information literacy skills necessary for success at Nichols and beyond.
The Library provides a welcoming physical and intellectual environment in which individuals and groups can study and work.
Service Desk
The Circulation Desk (aka the “Front” Desk)
The Circulation Desk is located in the library’s main reading room, near the main floor entrance. Stop by the circulation desk to complete any of the following transactions: check books in/out, renew borrowed items, request items through Interlibrary Loan, access materials on course/textbook reserve, reserve a group study room, or borrow equipment. Our friendly staff of librarians and student workers are happy to assist you!
Library Technology
The Library provides a wealth of technology related resources available to the Nichols community, for in-house use and for borrowing.

Off Campus Access
Registered students, faculty, and staff can access the Library’s databases from off-campus by using their Nichols username/password. If unsure of what your username is, click here .

Wireless Access
Laptops and Phones: Students can simply connect to the Wi-Fi named “NICHOLS”, then enter your Nichols username and password.
Guests visiting Nichols campus can receive 24 hours of internet access by completing the guest Wi-Fi registration.
Web printing to a library printer using Papercut
Using the PaperCut app (available from your Nichols Onelogin page or the Library’s homepage) you can print any PDF or Microsoft Office file (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) to a library printer. (Note: copies not picked up after 24 hours will be discarded.)
Please note: If you are printing an article from a library database always choose the PDF version if given the option. To print a webpage or image, you must first copy/paste into a MS Office document and save it. ALSO, if you wish to print a document you have saved to Onedrive, you must download it to your computer and then upload to PaperCut.

Pages printed using PaperCut, whether it be from the Library, Lib Aud, Nab, Student Center, Shamie, or Remillard, count towards an annual free allotment. All students are given an annual $25 allotment equal to 500 free single-sided prints or free 625 double-side prints. If you have used up your allotment you will need to ‘pay as you go’ at the Front Desk or transfer amounts from a friend’s account to a your account (on your PaperCut account page, click on the ‘Transfers’ link on the left, fill in amount you wish to transfer and enter the Nichols user name for the account to which you want to transfer the credit).
Technology-Related resources for users
The Library currently makes available the following technology-related-resources for patron use:
– 27 computer workstations throughout the Library
– 2 printers (One on the main floor – b/w and color, and one on the top floor – b/w) – Print management via Papercut
– 3 scanners (1 on each Floor)
– 1 copier on the Main Floor
– Wireless access throughout the Library
– 8 Group Study Rooms equipped with white boards and computers
