Spring Closing & Move-Out

Spring Residence Hall Closing Dates:

Non-Graduating Students (Not Walking at Commencement): Wednesday, April 30th at 7:00pm

• In-Season Athletes who are approved by Athletics and Residence Life are able to stay late for competitions and games. 

Graduating Students (Walking at Commencement): Saturday, May 3rd at 7:00pm

• If you are participating in Senior 48, you must complete your health and safety checkout by Wednesday, April 30th.
  • Seniors in Senior 48 do not need to register to stay late.
• Seniors living on campus who are not participating in Senior 48 and have not paid senior dues must move out by Wednesday, April 30, at 7 PM.

Late Departure Fees:

$50/night – 5 days or more transitions to the summer housing rate of $150/week

Fee Exemptions:

• International Students and Students who live more than 350 miles away from campus that are walking at commencement (1 day)
• Athletes staying due to sport obligations do not need to fill out this request form and will not be charged the per day fee while they are on campus for an official athletic obligation.

Steps to Apply:

1. Log into the MyHousing Portal
2. Click: “Applications & Forms” at the top of the screen
3. Click: “Spring Late Departure Request” (2025SP)
4. Fill out completely and click “Continue”
5. You will receive a confirmation message once your application is submitted successfully
6. The Office of Residence Life will review your request and contact Students via their Nichols College Email

Additional Information:

Dining Options: Meals are the responsibility of the student with no options available. Student meal plans will not operate after hall closing on April 30th.

Late Application Fees: Students who do not fill out the break housing application by the set deadline will be subject to a $50 late application fee.

Approval Process: The Office of Residence Life will notify Students of their application status within 3 business days of submission. Staying over break is not a guarantee and if my request is declined it is their responsibility to leave campus by the deadline.
